ABOUT THE BREITLING CHRONOMAT COLLECTION
HISTORY
The original Chronomat was born in 1941 in Switzerland by Breitling SA and has been marketed ever since as the most sought after Breitling collection. The time-piece evolved as a standard aviation chronograph watch for the Italian aerobatics team, Frecce Tricolori, equipped with all features desired in a professional pilot's watch. The symbolic crown and chronograph push-pieces which have become an identity to the Breitling Chronomater time-pieces were used for the first time along with a robust case make and ergonomic shapes of the lugs. This collection was also the pioneer series to contain the brand’s in-house B01 Calibre in 2009.
POPULAR MODELS
The Breitling Chronomat 44 is the star of the reputed series. Available in 4 versions including all-steel, steel with a bezel bearing 4 gold markers, steel with a gold bezel and all-gold, this is the unmatched chronograph for all pilots and houses a Bretiling Caliber 01 with a water-resistance of 500 metres. The Chronomat GMT is yet another jewel in the Breitling collection, a niche traveller’s watch that offers a unique crown-adjustable second time-zone in a sturdy 47 mm diameter case.
EVENTS
2014 marked the 30th anniversary of the most significant collection of the Swiss watchmaking company, the Breitling Chronomat pilot's watch. This joyous occasion was marked by the release of four dashing new models of the Breitling Chronomat Airborne collection at Bazelworld 2014, all of which are reminiscent of the pioneer Frecce Tricolori Chronomat. This supremely popular series is available in two sizes, 41mm and 44mm diameter and two dial colours, Onyx black and Sierra silver.
