Diamond Color

Diamond color is the natural color of a diamond. Most of the diamonds naturally exhibit the hints of yellow, brown or grey. If a diamond has a less color, it would allow more light to pass, which will make a diamond more attractive. So lighter the color of a diamond, the price would be higher. Diamond color is graded on an alphabetical scale from D to Z, D being colorless and Z being the most yellow/brown. The closer the diamond color is to D, the higher the price will be, considering that D is the rarest color to achieve from any diamond.

The highest color grade. The most expensive and a rare color. It’s absolutely colorless.

E-F

Only expert gemologists can detect minor traces of color. It’s a colorless and a high quality diamond.

G-H

Near colorless. One can notice the color only when compared to better grades diamonds. It offers an excellent value.

I-J

Near colorless. Slightly detected color. It offers a good value.

K-M

Slightly Yellow.

N-Z

Diamonds that are light yellow or brown


N-Z color diamonds are very low in quality and it reduces the value of the diamond, So many jewelers don’t even carry them. We also don’t recommend buying such lowers quality diamonds.
